The CPU_FAN should detect PWM vs voltage control and automatically use PWM when possible without switching anything in BIOS. The CPU_OPT header follows CPU_FAN.

The other fan headers are built to run with either PWM or voltage control by always doing voltage control with the PWM line held in the ON condition -- false PWM.

Maximus VII boards have BIOS selection of PWM or voltage control, but not Maximus VI boards.
