Is there really GTX 870m's with different VRAM sizes?

So here I am with my G750 and its 3GB GTX 870m. Asus advertises it as 3 GB VRAM. I recentely went to take a look at some new gaming laptops coming out and the Aorus X3 caught my eye, shame it wasn't out when I got my G750. However, I noticed it has a GTX 870m with "6GB" VRAM. I know VRAM isn't the most important factor in a card, but is there really different sizes for one card or is it just a marketing stunt?

Not much difference, 3GB is fine for what us gamers might use.. especially for 1080p, however if you decide to multi-monitor, then 6GB is better.

Thanks, that would explain it considering the Aorus has a 3k screen.
