Quick Question....

The RE5 motherboard comes with two Sata Express connectors, am i able to put two Standard Sata 6g M500 SSD in the ports at RAID 0 with normal Sata cables or will i need to places them on standard Sata 6g ports?

You can use them as if they are normal SATA ports.

Hello

Ports SATA6G 7, 8 ,9 and 10 do not support RAID. All the other Intel SATA ports including the SATA Express ports do support RAID.

I thought i would update the forum with my findings on the Sata - Sata Express and M.2

So having finished my build last night of my RE5 board i have the the following configuration.

M.2 -(Boot) Samsung XP941 512, this runs at around 1092 MB/s 😄
Sata ports (Intel Raid) 1-4 has four 2TB raid 5 drives

Intel Sata Express ports - Two M500 SSD running Raid 0 has data transfer rates of 1102 MB/s 😄

This is also with PCI-e GTX 780 TI in slot 1 and 3

This board is great.......

That mean Samsung XP941 work and you can Install OS and boot with him.
