    5960X or 5930K

There's really not much difference in performance of these 2 chips. I guess the clock speed of the 5960 was decreased to 3.0 to limit heat production with 8 cores. I am surfing the net and playing flight sims mainly, and I am using an SLI set up. Which chip do you think is better? Just dead even? Anand's bench section is quite helpful, but what do you guys think? Thanks.

@ Hopper, hey guy it is everywhere if your are planning to use heavy Photoshop application, rendering video or some heavy multitask applications go the king i7 5960X , if you just playing games the other two type of cpu they are just fine and if money is a concern then go for the cheapest one I believe the 5920k. I got the 5960x and I not disappoint with investment I do a little of everything so there you have it guy, my humble and cheapest opinion. Good luck guy.

Thanks. I am really not doing much of the multitasking things that you are, that's why I was leaning towards the 5930K. I like that it is clocked higher too. Appreciate your help.

For the tasks that you mentioned, the 5930K will serve you well. The 5960X doesn't start to shine until you submit to heavy multithreaded workloads.

If someone think to OC CPU on 4.0GHz, example... and use one graphic card than i7-5930K no much advantage over i7-5820K?

Thanks Chino. The only multithreaded task that may arise are the multiple calculations needed during a flight simulation. I don't know which chip would be better here. None of the benchmarks we have include flight sims. Appreciate your help.

For a configuration like that, the i7-5820K is a good buy.

Can't speak for flight simulators. But I'm sure the 5930K will be more than capable to handle them.
