Bluetooth mouse problem + instant on

Hi guys,

I have this problem: My mouse (logitech m557 bluetooth) sometimes has lags, or sometimes it disconnects and reconnets after 4/5 seconds.
I just realized that when it goes back (from hell i think XD) asus instanton icon appears at the bottom of the screen, saying somehting then it disappears.
Is it lnked with my mouse problem?
I already changed the bluetooth settings to not let my pc turn it off ofr energy saving, went on settings of "mouse and keyboard" to stop the delay, but nothing changed.... How do i do?
I'm on windwos 8.1, rog g750jh....

P.S. On application i can't see Asus instanton installed, it seems unistalled but it's still popping, O_O

eliuss89, did you install the Logitech software, setpoint? When you paired the mouse with the laptop, did it show up right away, or did it take some time from the time you clicked the connect button to the time it showed up as available / paired - were there any problems initially pairing?

The Qualcomm bluetooth driver is working better than it did initially on Windows 8.1, but it is still not 100% - and I have found that by not installing it at all, and letting the default Microsoft drivers install, and reboot - now I connect reliably via Bluetooth - headphones - sometimes I have to go into the Sound control panel and right click on the Bluetooth Headphones device and select Connect - but 90% of the time as soon as I power on the Headphones the device connects within 1-5 seconds.

My first recommendation is to look in your Programs and Features for the device driver name - you didn't say what version of G750 you have or what hardware BT you have - but find that name / version number and go to the support area for your laptop version and find the latest BT driver for your hardware - and check in the general location too as Asus doesn't keep the specific product downloads as up to date as the central areas.

G750 support areas - The JM download area has the latest of all the G750, with JS/JZ next, the G750JW/JX/JH are out of date:

Here are the latest Notebook LAN drivers

Uninstall your current driver and then install the new one, and see if that helps first. If not so much, then uninstall the driver you just updated, and reboot to let the Microsoft driver install - you may have to turn Bluetooth back on manually.

Also, Bluetooth isn't running when the laptop is powered down, only wired mice/keyboard can wake up the laptop. Logitech also sells non-bluetooth wireless with USB dongle that can wake the laptop if the USB is powered and the feature is enabled in the BIOS.

Let us know how it works out 🙂

Hi hmscott,

first of all thank you for your answer.
I ofc installed setpoint, and i haven't had any problem syncing my mouse, any.
But when i use it, sometimes it has horrible lags, or delay, 1 every 30 min +/-.
i didn't install the wireless driver of asus, i let the pc install themselves when the pc upgraded to 8.1...
The only problem i think could be, is that i have my router 3 meters from me, and it is dual band 2.4 and 5 ghz.

this is so frustrating because all i tried didn't work, and i keep having these lags, i had a logitech mouse wireless before,it was like my m557 but it was wireless with a dongle, it worked perfectly for 5 years....
But this doesn't want to work, and i dunno why 😕

eliuss89, try installing the hardware driver specific to your Bluetooth hardware, not using the Windows installed driver.

The Bluetooth connects directly with the laptop Bluetooth, the router doesn't get involved.

Did you check what hardware you have installed for Bluetooth before blowing away the Asus Windows Install? If you still have that HDD, boot on it and check what hardware you have installed, and update all the drivers as below.

They aren't Asus drivers, they are hardware drivers from each manufacturer that Asus hosts from their website.

Here is the list of places I look for updates for my G750JH; the best way to get a stable fully functioning G750/G751 is to update all the drivers / apps to the latest Windows 8.1 release.

The G750JW/JX/JH/JM/JS/JZ download areas haven't had new updates for a while, BIOS updates still happen in your model's support area, so check there from time to time.

The G750/G751/551/500/etc share the same basic hardware components; check support download areas for new hardware for newer drivers.

Asus maintains central support areas for hardware component features common to all products, those areas usually have the latest drivers after new hardware releases, sometimes there is a lag before the newer drivers show up there, so still to new product releases support downloads for the latest drivers.

Asus G751 Support / Download areas - Asus hasn't updated all the versions of these support areas, this link discusses the 3 locations were started independantly and not sync'd/updated through to the latest driver releases - check them all to be sure.

If you are running only on Windows installed drivers you aren't getting the most from your laptop, and will likely continue to have problems like the BT lag 🙂

You can try installing the BT driver first to see if that is enough, but installing all the updated Windows 8.1 drivers is best.

Let us know how it works out 🙂

Maybe i didn't explain correctly what i meant.

I installed latest drivers i found on asus support for windows 8.1, followings:

http://www.asus.com/it/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/ASUS_ROG_G750JH/HelpDesk_Download/

And couldn't solve the problem....

eliuss89, that is because Asus doesn't update the download area for products after release, that is why the big long list, and the explanation that the JW/JX/ JH download areas aren't up to date. They have old Windows 8.1 drivers...

G750 support areas - The JM download area has the latest of all the G750, with JS/JZ next, the G750JW/JX/JH are out of date:

The G750JH download area Windows 8.1 drivers haven't been updated, the G750JM/JS/JZ driver downloads are newer, and the general download areas are even newer. Get the idea? 🙂

When the G751 models are released, those download areas will be worth checking too.

Please look for newer Windows 8.1 drivers in the other locations, and compare the driver versions available, download them if newer, and update.

Let us know what you find, and how it works 🙂

eliuss89, np, it surprises everyone the first time, why Asus doesn't backfill all the download areas for products using the new drivers... but you get used to it, and learn how to forage through new Asus Product releases to find the latest drivers.

Have fun! 🙂

last bluetooth driver of the list isn't helping, mouse still get lags 😞

eliuss89, from what Version to what Version, of which driver? 🙂

Also, when you change drivers, delete the device from the Bluetooth driver list, and re-pair it.
