If I decide to use this slot later for a sound card, I won't be disabling my SLI combo for slots 1 and 4, correct? Also, the manual states that the Asmedia SATAExpress port and the PCIe x1_1 will be disabled if this slot is used along with "USB3_E910" port. Is this last thing USB3 ports E9 and E10 next to the female LAN RJ-45 port on the rear I/O connection panel? If this is the case, the terms are a bit confusing. Thanks.

In answer to your first question will i disable my SLI from Slot 1 and 4 if i use the PCI x4_1 slot the answer is no. Your cards will work fine and yes the USB under the LAN port are the USB3_E910 as per this image.

I just recieved my Rampage V Extreme and my install went very well thus far.I do have one issue though that I can not seem to resolve.I have a pci-e soundblaster Z sound card which works fine in PCIe 3.0 8X_4 slot or PCIe 2.0 X1_1 slot but I can not get it to work in the PCIe 2.0 X4_1.I have tried disabling the Asmedia USB 3 in the bios but it makes no difference.Any ideas as to why this particular PCIe slot will not reconize my sound card?

I'm having this exact issue! ZxR card in the x4_1 slot, and it just doesn't get detected. Currently, i'm using it in another x16 slot, but I think this is making my 2nd video card run at x8. Please help.

I have tested my creative soundblaster Z in that slot and it works fine. Do you guys have anything else installed in the other slots that may be disabling PCie x4_1? You may want to list your hardware.

And, BTW, I have disabled onboard sound in the bios too. This might be required for this to work.

Evga Titan Black 1 on PCIE_1
Evga Titan Black 2 on PCIE_3
ZxR is on PCIE_x8_2 atm
Other Slots are empty

Aquaero connected via USB3_34 (big red usb port onboard)
Corsair k70 keyboard on back panel USB ports (not the ones by LAN)
Samsung 850 pro on SATA6G_1
WDREDS on SATA6G_3 and 4
Blu Ray Player on SATA6G_7
