    G70AB Format?? Need help!!

    So I've received my G70AB.

I got a display model, and the store had installed a HEAP of bloat ware (there was only 20Gig left free on the SSD) so I did a Windows
system restore to try to get it back to an earlier build.

The problem is, it's now asking for the store password. It's 8:30pm here so the store won't be open until tomorrow. I have a Windows install DVD here, but I can't select the boot drive in the BIOS.

I just want to format it and do a clean install of Windows 8.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Press F8 for Windows Boot Manager.

Why didn't you advise them to delete everything before handing the machine over to you? Too much excitement? Too stupid?
Don't forget to delete all partitions and create a new volume, while doing the setup.

Not too excited, and no, not too stupid (but thank you for the kind words of encouragement...).

I've tried F8. Doesn't work. It only comes up with the option of Windows 8 or setup.

Factory Reset procedure from the G70AB manual works?

Good, but I'm sure, factory reset still contains way too much bloat ware and the recovery partition on your SSD is huge.
If you have a Windows 8/8.1 product key and a Windows 8/8.1 ISO, then download Rufus and create a bootable UEFI USB device (make sure to select GPT) and do a real clean install. This means kill all partitions by deleting them in setup and create a new volume, which will create 4 partitions (otherwise GPT was not selected in Rufus or you started Legacy setup).

Afterwards make sure to get the newest Bios and drivers from Asus Support page and station-drivers

    I will and thanks again.

The problem is the bios. I managed to get a clean install on my G75VX but I have yet to find a similar guide for the G70AB.

Once I can do that, things will be much better

Good, should definitely be possible to do a clean install.
Btw, just wondering, what specs does your G70AB have and what did you pay for it?

    It's the 4770k with 16g ram and gtx 760.

Was $2700 (yes I know I could have built one myself cheaper) on 4 yr interest free store deal.
