Hi!

So as title says the problem is that my function keys dont work on my brand new G750jz. Keyboard lights, volume up or down or mute, nothing works. Im running on windows 8.1. I have been trying to find out how to get these function keys to work and I have tried:

Downloading and installing the latest ATK pak, I have deleted it few times and installed it again and it havent helped.(I have version 1.0.0037 now)

I have tried the "fix" button on atk pak and it does not help either.

I have tried to activate Hcontrol at C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ATK Package\ATK Hotkey

I tried Hcontrol properties "run as administrator" and run "run in compatibility mode windows 8" and it does not help either.

I have downloaded the ATK PAK version for windows 8.1 but still in my C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ATK Package\ATK0100 is folder named "Win7_64" and I was wondering that might that have something to do with this problem?

Does anyone have a clue how to get these function keys working? I dont know if theres any way to example activate the keyboard lights with out function key? Thanks in advance! (Sorry poor grammar)

Do you hold down the fn key while pressing F3 or F4?

Have you checked if your fn key was disabled in BIOS by accident?

The fn key is in the bottom left of the keyboard.

Just a dumb question, this may sound stupid (sorry).
But you do know that the function keys work only in conjunction with the "fn key" next to the windows key. (Example: fn+f4)
As Darnassus already mentioned.

PS: Now with some NB manufactures, the function keys will work directly.
With Asus, they work in conjunction with the fn key.

Thanks for the tips!

I did a factory reset to my laptop and now function keys are working 😄 Pretty strange since they didnt work out of the box.

Thanks anyway! At least now there is a are pretty good list what to try if your function keys are not working 🙂

Did you use the Asus BackTracker USB to recover to factory settings?
