Asus 2013 G750J Drivers?

Hi, I have an Asus G750J (just a J, no other letter), but I cant find the drivers for this model, only for G750JH, G750JX, G750JW.
Should I use the drivers from those models? Or am I missing something here?
I can't find my model listed anywhere.

Thanks

Not sure if you are checking the battery bay label or something else, but look for your serial number label on the bottom of the notebook which should have the full model name next to it.

Otherwise, if you check the download page, you can even search your model by the serial number (make sure you type in the serial number correctly with all capitals though), but you really should see it next to the serial number.

Anyway, hope this is able to help.

hemoglobina, look at the outside of the giant box it came in, there is an inventory list, the model number should be on there - the full number is the G750Jx-xx name.

Your sales receipt should also say what you purchased. There is a cost difference between each model, how much was the cost and which sales source did you purchase it from?

Thanks, I found out that the model is the JW.
In the sticker on the front, it only shows a J.
So, all drivers and BIOS from the JW work right?
Thanks!

hemoglobina, actually Asus has a tradition of not continuing to update driver downloads for models that have been out for a while.

The JW/JX/JH predate the JS/JM/JZ, an dnow the G751 series is coming out - all with the same basic hardware - CPU, motherboard, disk controllers, audio, ethernet, wireless, and so you can download the newer versions of drivers from the newest models.

Also, Asus keeps central locations for types of drivers, and then seem to update those whenever a new model and new drivers are posted.

Here is the list of places I look for updates for my G750JH; the best way to get a stable fully functioning G750/G751 is to update all the drivers / apps to the latest Windows 8.1 release.

The G750JW/JX/JH/JM/JS/JZ download areas haven't had new updates for a while, BIOS updates still happen in your model's support area, so check there from time to time.

The G750/G751/551/500/etc share the same basic hardware components; check support download areas for new hardware for newer drivers.

Asus maintains central support areas for hardware component features common to all products, those areas usually have the latest drivers after new hardware releases, sometimes there is a lag before the newer drivers show up there, so still to new product releases support downloads for the latest drivers.

Asus G751 Support / Download areas - Asus hasn't updated all the versions of these support areas, this link discusses the 3 locations were started independantly and not sync'd/updated through to the latest driver releases - check them all to be sure.

Asus doesn't modify the drivers, they release the identical driver packages as Nvidia releases.

Also, most important, back up the OS recovery partition to a USB 3.0 16GB flash drive using Asus Backtracker. Then you will have a bootable USB 3.0 16GB flash drive to recreate the out of the box OS / disk configuration.

Make sure to remove all other USB storage before creating the recovery flash drive with Asus Backtracker, it has been known to erase other devices connected.

When restoring, like to a new SSD or to recover from a disk loss, be sure and again remove the USB storage devices other than the recovery flash drive, and also pull the 2nd Bay drive as it will get reformatted/partitioned if it is left in during the restore.

Let us know how it works out 🙂
