    Mine is a HGST HTS721010A9E630

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822145881

    HGST Travelstar 7K1000 HTS721010A9E630 (0J22423) 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive

It's a SATA III drive, 7200rpm, 1TB. So I'm sure your 1TB SATA III SSD drive will work just fine.

On a side note, that Samsung 840 drive you're talking about is $370 on Amazon. That's a LOT of money for a storage drive. Hopefully you're using it for another Operating system or have another good reason to justify the huge drop in coin.

Could you take a sata ssd out of its case so it is smaller and do a 2 way tape job have an M2 sit on top of it or below and run both? A drive like the Samsung 850 looks like a nice small size to fit in there taken out of its case. There wouldn't be any other reason both slots cant be used besides how they are spaced?

Hi guys, I finally picked up my G751JY on the weekend, and was a little disappointed to see after booting it up that the two PCI SSD's were not configured in raid 0. Does anyone know of a guide that could help me setup the drives in raid 0? perhaps (if its possible) without having to reinstall the OS? Also does anyone know where the windows serial key is on this machine? I cant find one on mine

MMINC, there is only 1 M.2 PCIE SSD slot in the JY, if it is used it runs too fast compared to the SATA II port in the 2nd bay with your other SSD to run in RAID0. There is no 2 x M.2 PCIE RAID0 configuration available in the G751 because it only supports 1 M.2 PCIE device.

If you have 2 x 2.5" SSD's, you still won't want to do 2 x RAID0 because the left Bay is SATA III and the right Bay is SATA II, which would be an imbalanced RAID0 configuration, and be very slow.

I deleted the extra partition in the m.2 ssd....expanded the size of the 1st partition to 512gb.....that drive is FAST

Hi, guys! I don't know if this is the right thread for this question but do you think the m.2 slot would fully support the XP941 successor, the SM951

    http://www.storagereview.com/samsung...e_ssd_released

This is the article that caught my eye and I was wondering if it would be compatible with the slot and also if it can reach full speed in it - it's a PCIe 3.0 x4 slot, right?

PCie SSD's are just becoming more popular and they're getting even faster so I wanted to make sure that the M.2 slot will make a future update with these even faster SSDs possible. If so, then the G751 will be able to beat even MSI's Super RAID eventually as this technology matures since the max potential throughput is supposed to be 3.2 GB/s

Hah, I'd love to but I haven't even got the JY yet I'll be buying a new notebook next month and I've set my eyes on it but I haven't made the decision yet and I'm just trying to get as much info as I can I guess. I was hoping that somebody else might have had the same idea and tried it out but then again it's too early for that it seems. Thx anyway
