erreesse, wow, that's new, all the G751JY's reported in the past have had that spot populated with a PCIE M.2 connector... I guess Asus is refining the build process such that they are now leaving the connector off for model builds that don't ship with a PCIE M.2 SSD.

    Thanks for letting us know...

erreesse, what's keeping you from playing with the laptop all weekend? Or, from doing testing up until the last day you are allowed to return it for a refund?

You might find that the laptop without a PCIE M.2 port is still very usable with the throughput of a SATA III SSD (Bay 1 is SATA III)

If you don't keep this G751JY, you will need to pay up another $500-800 for the model that comes with the M.2 PCIE SSD...that's a lot of $ for better throughput; although that it is 2x faster you likely won't see visible improvement for most gameplay.

I wouldn't waste the time you have with the G751JY you have, there are plenty of things you can do to get to know the rest of the hardware - nice preparation if you do decide to upgrade to the PCIE x4 M.2 SSD model.

You can use Macrium Reflect Free to clone the boot drive and restore to the M.2 boot drive on the new laptop, preserving all your tuning / configuration / installs done on this model

Please come back and let us know how it works out, and have fun with it while you have it

The point is : really this model don't have M2 connector ?

    Or is just a bug?
Is italy a children of a lesser god???

I'm not thinking of change to another model, because in italy there is no g751 with ssdM2 natively. Asus italy said.

But if i have to send it back, i don't know if make me some trouble if i power it on.
The return/refund policy in italy usually is not easy for the consumer.

But the temptation of turn it on is very very strong

erreesse, now that you say Italy doesn't have an M.2 SSD model option, it does sound like all the G751JY's in your region come without the M.2 connector... Asus does this sometimes, reduces options in some regions, who knows why... local licensing requirements, certification requirements, or some other regional limitations.

Even if you ask Asus support, they might not be aware of that detail... you could call Asus Italy and complain / ask... please let us know what they say.

That part is surface mounted, likely reflow solder, or if there is a hole through component, Wave Soldered.

It's tough to manually solder a component like that.

Also, there might be associated components missing - not installed - not needed if the PCIE M.2 connector isn't installed. The idea is to save $ on manufacturing / parts for functions not installed.

Sorry to hear that the M.2 connector isn't there, or available as a model option. You might consider another source, outside Italy, but watch out for the keyboard type supplied to make sure you can use/read it.

IDK what the return policy is, but before returning it, you could do a Power On F9 reset to reinstall the OS just like it was when it came out of the box - erasing all your changes / installs.

    Have fun

Hi, I'm Italian and I have the same version of yours, G751JY-T7134H but I have the M.2 socket soldered.
I removed the SSD bracket (the stock one) and the chassis of the Sandisk SSD because I'm going to mount the M.2 bracket and the M.2 SSD (they should arrive soon I hope). I noticed that the Sandisk SSD is very thin and short, so I can leave the SSD SATA3 in the socket and mount at the same time the M2 SSD. Fantastic!
In more the SATA3 SSD is able to stay attached without any need of a screw because it needs to be "forced" to be mounted.
