PC DESK NEED ADVICE pleaseee :)

Hi everyone, I was on my way to plan my future PC desk.

I am not a big geek, but I might install League of Legends and maybe Battlefield4 but BF is not sure yet. It will be mostly for my future classes that I choose which is Network Management. So In my future PC I want to have 2 OS, W8 and Linux so I need to be able to run these.

Budget: 500-600$ MAX (If I take the cooler master hyper 212 I have a bigger budjet for ASUS Motherboard, so I could maybe reach the 160$ budjet, but If I take the V8 Its maybe more 100-120 budjet.)

Main uses of intended build: Learning coding, holding Windows 8 + Linux, Play few games like League of Legends and maybe BF4.

Parts required:
So, what I had as idea was to buy:
Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus Radeon R7 260X 2GB DirectCU II Video Card
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO OR The Cooler Master V8
EVGA 750W ATX12V / EPS12V
And for the motherboard, I'm not sure yet, this is where I need your help.

Previous build information (list details of parts):
HP Pavilion p7-1549 Desktop PC
http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c03694496...

Monitor resolution: 1920 X 1080

Storage requirements: I keep my 1 TB from my P7-1549 and for spacing, I will create my custom desk so I will be fine whatever the size of the pieces.

Will you be overclocking: yes, maybe a bit but not much.

Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): No really,I was planning to put either a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO Or Cooler Master V8.
Extra information about desired system:
I will keep my 10 gb ram from the current computer and replace it by a 8gb ram for my mother computer.
I will keep my 1 TB Hard Drive and replace it by a 260 hard drive. She will be fine since she only use around 30 GB for her complete PC.

and all my other pieces I will give it to my mom computer.
She currently has :
AMD Athlon ™ 64 processor 3800+ 2.41 Ghz
Nvidia GeForce 6150 LE
960mo Ram
460Gb Space/428Gb Free

And she will have :
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing
Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
EVGA 750W ATX12V / EPS12V
The rest will be my HP processor pieces

So she will probably be very happy to receive my computer. I will add up 8 gb ram to this computer tho so she will be fine! 🙂

I need your advice on what to take as motherboard and should I take V8 or Hyper 212?
Also is there a big difference between a Motherboard of 120$ and one of 200$ ? LIKE a hugeeee difference which could change totally the capacity of my computer in what I want to do.

Thanks for your help
I really appreciate

Hi Midaz and Welcome to RoG forums.

If you hve a Microcenter close check out the Asus z97 AR.

http://www.microcenter.com/product/433977/Z97-AR_LGA_1150_Intel_ATX_Motherboard

The AR has black pcb whereas the model A has a brown pcb

Asus motherboards overclock pretty much the same from the A to Rog motherboards

The more expensive motherboards has more features that alot of people so not need or use

The EVO 212 cannot be beat for the money, keep your oc vcore under 1.3 volts or cpu temps under 85c

The 10gb ram you stated will not fit z97 motherboards 8gb 16 gb .8gb is enough

Awesome ! Thanks a lot! And What Memory Card should I use in your oppinion? That would fit

The Asus Z97-A or Asus Z97-AR are pretty similar in specs and offer a SATA-Express connector, which is pretty cool to have. 🙂
The Asus Z97 Gryphon is a bit more expensive and is built on the mATX form factor, specs are to pretty similar to the other two, although it lacks a Sata-Express port. Therefore it offers some other board components, which have a higher quality standard and offers the ability to change your case sometime in the future to a smaller one. 😉

In terms of graphics power I would recommend to change to an Asus R9 270X DCII 4Gb, to compensate the higher price in comparison to the R7 260X, I suggest to get a 500-600W power supply, which will be enough to power this system, even if you apply some overclocking.

Those 10Gb of DDR3 RAM, how are the split? 5x2Gb? 2x4Gb + 2GB?

What do you mean with memory card? RAM?

Yeap I meant Ram, but 4 gb ram doesnt seems to be enough, my last computer had that and I had trouble with League of Legends ahah I'm not sure how they are Split I only know they they are radeon Hd 7570. And I choose that ppower Supply because it is very cheap its like 50$ and it is hard to beat for that price I think !
Also, the 270 is 200$ and the 260 is like 145 if I"m not wrong
Cause 8 ram is definitively better than 4 no ? Or it is like the processor which can vary from brand to brand ?

Yes, that's correct, for good performance you need at least 8Gb of DDR3 RAM 😉
I'm confused, what you say about your 10Gb DDR3 and HD7570, did you count the VRAM and RAM together?
Because if you own 2x4Gb or 4x2Gb DDR3 sticks, you don't have to buy new RAM. 😉

Yes, the R9 270X is 50$ more expensive, but it's a huge leap in terms of performance compared to the R7 260X. The R9 270X has a wider bus (256bit), more VRAM (4Gb GDDR5), which will be more important in the future and more stream processor for sure. Overall it delivers almost twice the performance of a R7 260X and it's definitely more future proof.

And I might go with that for ram : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gskill-memory-f317000cl11d8gbxl
And What is the best ? : msi-motherboard-z97g45gaming or Asus Z97-AR?
This is what I have now lol.

So I need a 8 ram and also, is there a bigggg difference between the Maximus VII and the Z97?
Thanks again and again for help guys!

Asus has the best software over anyone out there.

The maximus has more features is all.

you will be liking your setup,it looks good
