Hello,

I few days ago I bought ASUS Maximus VII Gene motherboard and installed Windows 8.1 (64 bits) on SSD Kinstone HyperX 3K 240 GB. I putted SATA mode to AHCI in BIOS before installation.

But when I install Intel's IRST drivers (which I downloaded from ASUS website) and checked info about SSD and connection its says SATA 3Gb/s which means its SATA II not SATA III. I tried to change SATA slots form 1 SATA6G to 3 SATA6G and it doesnt helped.

I reinstalled Windows after I secure erased SSD. But still it shows 3 Gb/s.

ATTO benchmark is also showing max 280 mb/s write and 250 mb/s read so its definitely SATA II connection.

Is my motherboard's Intel SATA controller is broken? I really liked ASUS products in past, but nowadays they are not at same quality level as before 😞
