Hi, I have a motherboard Maximus Gene, I wanted to know what ssd pcie are compatible with the m.2 interface.
I was thinking of buying a 128gb plextor M6E, but I have not figured out if the connector is compatible with that card.

Hi veleno and Welcome to ROG.
You are good to go with the Plextor M6E.
Your MB supports the M.2 (Socket 3) with M key type 2260 and 2280 PCIe interface storage devices.
The competition to win one is still on till the 27th Oct. http://woobox.com/cnnncq

Thanks for the welcome and response.
My doubt was for the connection, because the motherboard is of type M, the module plextor type is B & M. it is still compatible and can be mounted right?
Another thing I would like to ask ..
The housing of the module M.2 is between the two pcExpress. I took a video card evga 750 tc, which would cover the ssd. It is not that you will warm too?

You also need to enable some settings in bios in order to have the M6E working at full speed etc. the link below shows you how to set this up.

I am wondering if an older MB would also support these new Plextor m.2 ssd? Looks like a great investment.

Thanks,
