Cannot get diaplay on pg278q swift monitor

I currently dont have a graphic card so i used a display port to hd,i port adapter to connect my computer to the monitor but it doesnt show anything more than no signal
And i even tried to connect to my laptoo but still no display

I am afraid is the monitor defective??

Do you have a VGA driver installed? You don't mention what your display port is attached to: what mobo? You probably need the Intel HD display driver.

HDMI to DP adapters don't work sorry. You have to use a native DisplayPort connection.

Will a display port to hdmi cable work ???
The cable i am saying has one hdmi end and one end display port

I want to run my hdmi 1080i settup box on it
Is there any way ???

MarshallR has already given you the answer to you solve your issue. Connect the monitor to a video card that has the proper output.

Hi mate,

I had a similar issue bought active and passive adaptors and a signal converter and they didn't work. You will need to get a gpu with the proper output or a laptop with a minidisplayport output otherwise it will not work.
