3930K OC Lifespan

Heya,

I have had a 3930K (C1 revision..intel wouldnt give me a C2) since 2011.

Rampage IV extreme
2x SLI GTX 770 (4GB) cards. Got these a few months ago.

It ran for a while (about 8 months to a year) at stock then finally I OC'd it to 4.5 GHz.
I never had any luck with offset voltage after weeks of testing I decided to old school manual it and got it stable at 1.36 volts.
I feel like I dont have the magical golden chip lol..

Anyways I have decent liqued cooling via an XSPC Raystorm cooler and the CPU runs in the mid 40's while gaming.

I am trying to hold out for skylake in 2015 or even skylake -E in 2016....

Think this chip will last till then?

I run the PC about 8 - 12 hours a day. I dont run it at night or while Im working during the day so its not 24/7.

One more question.

I know with gaming its more GPU then CPU but what about streaming and using programs like open broadcaster? Will a CPU overclock help or is it just based on threads.

Was thinking if lifespan could be an issue I may take it back to stock for a bit to increase its life.

1.36v should be fine. I ran my 3930k at 1.41v and their was very minor degradation after 2 years. Was only used for gaming though so not on 24/7.

It certainly is a great CPU. I never bothered updating it to a 4930k. And it took a while to convince myself to update to the 5930k that I have now. I hope it's as good as the 3930k was.
