Silly question about 4 pin and 8 pin power connectors

Hi everyone, first post here.

Believe it or not, first mobo I've used that has both. The manual doesn't specifically forbid connecting both, I assume the 4 pin is for extra power for higher/hardcore overclocks. So would it be ok to plug in both? Thanks.

That's correct. The 4 pin power cable provides the CPU with some extra juice when overclocking. It's optional. But if you have it, plugging it in will do no harm.

Pretty much just an OC'ing or Lower Power connector, it can be used either way, though I'd recommend against using it as a lower power connector, as you could very well bust your Mobo up, and that, will make you cry. OC'ing and general extra Power
