A problem with Maximus VII Hero BIOS 2012

If I change 'CPU Core Voltage' in addition to [Auto], failure to normal boot and 'Overclocking Failed' in a screen.

No problem with BIOS 1104.
Now I am using BIOS 1104 and overclocked to 4.7GHz 1.255V.

Does BIOS 2012 have bugs?
Or is my environment bad?

CPU:Intel Core i7-4790K
MEM:Kingston KHX24C11K4/16X
PSU:Seasonic SS-1250XM

I've seen a grammer issue with a description for one of the settings (it says diable instead of disable), even if I don't adjust the CPU multiplier the summary screen still says I did when exiting, and the mouse acceleration while in the UEFI BIOS environment is really messed up, but I haven't seen that particular issue you mentioned on my board (MAXIMUS VII GENE).

If you have the same board as I do, then it might be bad, but if you have a different board then it might be limited to that model and try calling ASUS support to request a bug fix ticket (and save the ticket number they give you).

It seems a lot of people have the issues with 2012 firmware, i better wait for the newer updates.

You can easily reflash to 1104.

I have reported to ASUS support.
I wait for next revision.

Thank you.

Welcome, It took me some problem solving to come down to the facts it's 2012 settings and not components.

I still have the same problem. I cannot overclock at all. Every time i see the number 15 on the lcd poster and i reflashed 1104 version again. I paid 200€ and i must use default settings. Really guys? Where is Asus reliability? I think the solution for this bug is to buy a Gigabyte motherboard. Thank you!

This bug has been fixed in BIOS 2201.
Now I am overclocking with BIOS 2201.

However, I've found another bug in the BIOS 2201.
If I change "Internal PLL Overvoltage" to [Enable], failure to normal boot and "Overclocking Failed" in a screen.
Therefore please leave [Disable] "Internal PLL Overvoltage".
