G752vs-xs74k
Hello all. Any info on the G752VS-XS74K OC Edition? Would be nice to know how to really squeeze every FPS out of it using something other then the ROG Gaming Center settings. Thanks all!

So far, this thread mainly collect components overclocking. It's not easy to see yet some overclocking guides related to laptop - but we are open to it!
For the G752VS OC edition model, it's recommended to use the ROG Gaming Center software to do the changes. Three types of overclocking can be done: CPU, GPU and DRAM. You have the choice between Standard and Extreme pre-settings, or if you feel comfortable with overclocking you can go to manual. There you can play with the CPU cache ratio, multiplier, BCLK. Once you enabled XMP (need to reboot), you will be able to play with DRAM overclocking.
And don't forget, Keep pushing it !

Any plans on getting a OC/bios settings guide fro the Z270E Strix, and with an 6700K installed on it ?
And before anyone starts on "why" a 6700k and not a 7700k, let me tell you why.
I build my 6700k build in Sep/Oct last year and with a Z170 MSI Mpower Titanium motherboard, but have had nothing but trouble with that one. Have had 2 of the motherboards break down with the same error, in only around 3-4 months. So got my money back from the last board, so i could get back to an Asus motherboard.
I picked the Z270E Strix because it it would fit into the rest of my build color wise, since its a neutral color scheme on it, and i would be able to jump up to a 7th gen cpu if i find a good offer.
So that why i think a guild for it would be nice, since there is alot in the bios that i need to get used to. Since the last "new" asus board/bios i have is from the 2nd gen cpu, which is in my 2nd rig now, an 2700K on a Sabertooth P67.

Hi MenthuDk,
As Skylake and Kabylake share the same architecture, the main difference will be on how much you can get out of the CPU. Motherboard wise, the main differences will be in term of additional features and memory frequencies that can be reached. Compared to the Maximus motherboards, the Strix series doesn't have the OC control area that can be useful when pushing the performance or the water cooling zone, if you happen to have a custom water cooling.
The Strix 270E supports up to 3866MHz for memory overclocking (enabling XMP) - so with your 3000MHz kit you should be alright. For CPU overclocking, you can look at Skylake or 6700K overclocking guides. Most of the BIOS options are the same than the one for Z170 motherboards. The i7 6700K is expected to reach ~4.6GHz overclocked stable with a good cooling method.
Here are few Skylake overclocking guides you can refer to:
1. Overclocking the i7 6700K @ 4.6GHz by Chino
2. Basics of Overclocking with Skylake
3. Overclocking tests with Skylake by JJ
Make sure you flash the latest BIOS available on the Strix Z270E support page before getting started. And don't forget, Keep pushing it !

Well it runs with the same 4.6GHz OC than the cpu did with the "broken" MSI boards, @ 1.29 V now instead of 1.30 V before.
In temp there isn't really the big difference, using the Deepcooler AIO thats in the Genome case. Most of it was really because all the
new things and stuff that there is in the bios, its different from the MSI and alot more from the last Asus that i got.
So have some getting used to with this one, but for now i think that i have it up and running so i can get back to some gaming.

If you want a good wallthrough from the BIOS options, you can check out the BIOS manual for the Strix Z270E. It explains the main features - especially from page 19 Ai Tweaker Menu.
If you get it to run at 4.6GHz that's great! And don't forget, Keep pushing it !

Okay thx gonna try and take a look at it and see if I can get a better understanding of the whole bios
Well first back when i got it and was using my first Mpower Titanium board, I got it to run 4.8GHz. But it was just not stable in every benchmark and stress test that i did. Turned it down to 4.7GHz and it was stable in all the tests that i did, so just to be on the save side i dropped it down to 4.6GHz
So i haven't tried to see if i could get it to run at 4.8GHz here on the Z270E Strix board that i have now, so that's why i was trying to find out about all of the "new" stuff that's in the Asus bios now
And BTW is there a way not to have to type in the CAPTCHA verification every time i post something here on the forum ??
