Just use msi afterburner, set power limit to 100, core clock will up to it's workable speed doub't that it have a good oc potential on core, but you can easily up memory clock to +300, play safe to +200, that's how i do it on 1080. there're nothing special about it, then go to fan control and set up curve to a comfortable speeds\temp, i made it so fans won't turn up until 45C and my babe don't hurt itself to 75C full force, haven't seen her going above 68C at 2012 core and 5300 mem. hah no rgb control tho in af

    Asus Z370-A 8700k

Hi all, I built my system last month and I’m thinking of overclocking. I haven’t done it before and it is somewhat overwhelming ram and cpu as I haven’t found a good tutorial for my exact specs (listed below). I had a few questions and was hoping someone could link/explain step by step what I need to do to overclock.

The ram is not overclocked yet, still at the stock 2133 mhz, the 8700k is at 3.7ghz I turned off multi core enhancement.

    Specs: 8700k, Ddr4 3000mhz, Dark rock pro 4, z370 prime-a Asus

Is the dark rock pro 4 strong enough to keep temperatures down if I wanted a cpu overclock between 4.7-5.0ghz? I was hoping to overclock it in that range. Hoping to keep it between high 50's - high 60's Celsius.

I couldn’t find how to overclock both ram+cpu on those exact specs, can it be explained as I am a newbie step by step.

you can try these settings https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...all#post756842
also you might need to increase vcore a bit
for fast stability and temperature testing i recommend y-cruncher benchmark with most available memory (settings 0, 1, 8 or 7 depending on how much memory do you have)
