    Have been using 1.5v ram

Wow, I'm glad I came across this thread. It would have been great to know this a long time ago... >.< Asus >.<

I had no idea 1.35v was REQUIRED. I've always modded/built and taken care of my own machines and considered myself "fairly" knowledgeable. Basically I know enough and anything I don't I'll research and do right. Ram isn't something you normally have to really think too hard about though.

I had 6GB (1x4 & 1x2) of extra matching DDR3 ram sitting around that I decided to put into my G750JM. I was planning on eventually buying some nice/new sticks but figured using these in the mean time couldn't hurt, more memory the better right? Luckily I haven't experienced any issues/errors/bluescreens, so I never would have even known. It's been installed and working fine for the last few months, never any extra heat, no issues whatsoever. I can't comment on increased power drain as I keep my laptop plugged in at pretty much all times.

I luckily happened across this thread while I was searching for some new ram to buy. Needless to say I immediately shut down and yanked them out... Before I did I ran CPU-Z and sure enough bank 1&3 were at 1.5, factory slots @ 1.35. I'm just glad no harm was done and I saw this thread. I really appreciate this information, I try to take meticulous care of my laptop and I would be furious if it had caused damage that Asus wouldn't cover. They REALLY need to make it clear to their consumers that 1.35 is required, especially since even someone relatively tech savvy who would open the laptop would most likely find sockets that say "1.5v" -.-

    Question about ram

    Just a quick question,
I have the Asus G750JHA with 24g ram I have one slot open so was thinking maybe add the final 8g. Does anyone know if the slot will be accessible or is it the one where you have to take the whole back of the laptop off to get to? My hands do not work well any more so that is why I am asking.
    Thanks and Merry Christmas
    Happy ROG_n

    Hi Doug,

You may want to verify on your end too, but you should see a cover under your notebook that you can remove with one screw (the screw may not come out completely, so you can just pull it out with the cover once it's loosened) to expose two of the four memory slots.
If those slots are filled, there are 2 more memory slots under the keyboard that are more difficult to get to.

There's a video below from the ROG site which shows you how to remove the cover at the 1:50 mark and there should be some videos on YouTube hopefully if you want to try to get to those memory slots under the keyboard.

Hope this helps, but feel free to let us know if it doesn't. Thanks.

    Hello,
I'm looking for a quick fix for this as i have spent hours trying to figure this out.
I purchased a slightly used G751JT with 16GB of stock memory already installed,
as like my last 3 Rog GModels I installed all new Ram in all 4 slots. HX318LS11IBK2/16
and now I have the BSOD and my firefox and other apps/websites keep crashing and nothing will update. One set of HX318LS11IBK2/16 were manufactured in 2015 and the other was in
2017 (not sure if the year matters?)
There are so many angles to troubleshoot this issue but figured i would just ask around first .

Please let me know if you can lead me into the right direction to get this resolved.

    Thank you!

Hey guys. I have the G751JL 8 Gig. I want to upgrade to at least 16. I am looking at these https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-memor.../dp/B00KEAEX54 for the upgrade.

But, I have a couple questions. If I install the 16, will I end up with 24 Total working gigs of Ram? Or are these 4 slots coupled and the new 16 (placed in the accessible slots) over ride the 8 that is installed in the inaccessible slot. Meaning to use all 4 slots do I need 4x4Gig sticks to get 16 Gig? Sorry, not a hardware guy by any means. I'd rather not have to access the inaccessible slots if I don't have to. A little more than nervous about lifting the keyboard and separating things to get to them.

Thanks in advance for any help with this question guys!

Do you know what you have now? Run HW info and post up the results.

So long as what is in there is compatible with what you are adding tou will end up with 24GB RAM. The 8GB utilizes one of two slots in the non user servicable area.
I cracked mine open and replaced all 4 with better and faster sticks, 2400MHz Gskill ripjaws.
