I don't know about the current timeline but I'll point out that this isn't an ASUS priority issue because it has to be resolved by Realtek before ASUS can do anything.
That's not to throw Realtek under the bus, just to point out that ASUS does not control the driver development cycle so ASUS can't make things any faster by throwing more manpower at the problem.Last edited by xeromist; 01-27-2015 at 06:54 PM.

So what xeromist is telling us is if u read between the lines make your own conclusion as we have , that the sound issue may never be resolved or fixed, return your faulty G751 if u can ASAP , that's what we did
and the silence from MarshelallR is deafening
"ISN'T AN ASUS PRIORITY"
Asus to busy counting its $ from the Faulty G751 salesLast edited by toronto699; 01-27-2015 at 07:56 PM.

I see your point. But the point is you are trying to pursue something called 'perfect'. We can't say that we paid for the price, the product must be perfect. Man makes mistake. I would say if they are reliable for fixing their(or third party's) mistake(if it's fixable), it worth the money.
For your third question, I'm surprised you think so highly of Asus thus other laptops are incomparable. Every brand has its own advantages. Asus just does great on balancing them.

NOTE: I'm not an ASUS employee and have no special knowledge. I'm just a hardware geek who has been around for many years and seen all of this before.
I'm pretty sure it will be fixed eventually. It would be a bad business move for Realtek to blow off a major laptop producer. I'm just thinking the most accurate time frame, to be blunt, is "when it's ready".
But yes, my advice would be to return the machine if you consider it unusable in its current state. It will be fixed but it could be months for all we know.* Support disease research with Folding@Home *

EXCUSE me sir, whose name is on this product asus or realtek?, i get that this may not be a simple fix and youre not an employee but if this was the priority it should be at asus a high level exec would be calling over there and kicking some butt!! (maybe that has happened but i doubt it) Implying asus is in the middle and has their hands tied is a buch of bull crap! they contracted realtek they certainly do have leverage

Absolutely the buck stops with ASUS and that name is on the product. What I'm getting at is that dealing with 3rd parties may not tie your hands but it certainly limits your options. You can complain but you have no ability to directly assign work. In the end it is someone else doing the work who may have their own set of priorities.
None of that is an excuse. I'm just trying to convey the reality I've seen played out several times in the past. The best choices are returning the product or sitting tight and making the best of it. The stress just isn't worth it and goes nowhere.* Support disease research with Folding@Home *

Hello, someone try the V6.0.1.7373 driver? (http://support.asus.com/Download.asp...&m=Audio&os=30)
I think the sound is much better now distributed.
