    G771 not recognizing m.2 drive

A few days ago I bought a G771 and since I already have a Kingston m.2 SATA 240Gb drive I choose the version without SSD. Now when I try to install the m.2 drive into my computer it doesn't recognize that anything is pluged into the bus. There is probably a simple solution but I can't find anything in BIOS about activating m.2 and a search for m.2 doesn't give much. Any ideas?

Det chip is seated correctly and it's not reporting a unknown device, it's like the m.2 bus isn't active.

galdrin, pull that M.2 SATA SSD out right away. It is the wrong type of M.2 drive. The G771 uses an M.2 PCIE x4 interface.

I haven't heard anything about what happens when you plug an M.2 SATA format board into an M.2 PCIE x4 slot, but it's likely not a good idea to leave it plugged in.

Check out the Samsung XP941 series for expansion, it is so far the fastest performing.
