So I went on a weeks holiday on Tuesday 25th Nov and left my laptop behind in its dust proof cover (some sort of neoprene zip up thing). Anyway, a storm hit on Wednesday 26th and hail smashed the window my laptop was sitting under. There's a bit of a dent on the top of the laptop where a large piece of glass hit it, the dust cover got soaked and subsequently so did the laptop. I lost the 1tb drive as that appears to be corroded (I arrived back on Tuesday 3rd Dec) - so it was sitting in water for a week. The 256 SSD appeared to be dry. So I let it all dry out until today Sunday 7th - turned it on and it works. So to anyone reading this, what's the best 2.5 HDD to replace my corroded one? I'm thinking 2tb if it fits.

awesome story nice it still works for you. as far as your hdd I'd just replace it with another ssd like a 480 or larger unless you need all that storage. samsung makes a good 2.5 hdd's newegg has a 2TB for like 125.00..
