I have some pretty large internal storage needs.
Right now, for my 'storage chest' i run 2 x 6TB Seagates in RAID0, using the Intel controllers ports on the mobo.
I'm thinking of replacing them with 2 or even 3 x of these 8TB monsters:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145969But I'm confused on the specs. In the headline, newegg calls it SAS. In the specs just a little bit down, it says SATA 6gb/sec
What is it? Is a moot point because it plugs into the same kind of port on our mobo? Can I plug 2 or 3 of these into the intel controller and a make a big/fast Raid0 out of them? The 2 x 6TB Seagates I run are the 7200RPM v4 models which are pretty fast for mechanical hard drives. Cant find any speed tests on these 8TB monsters yet.
Thanks gents. Great forum!
