I'm connecting a Dell 2711 with 2560x1440 resolution to the HDMI output on the G751JY. Using only the external monitor as display, I'm locked to the max resolution of the G751JY (1920x1080). I can set up a custom resolution through the nVidia panel, but games will not detect this, and I'm stuck on 1920x1080 which looks pretty bad on the Dell.

After a lot of googling and experimenting I haven't been able to solve this. Hopeing someone on the forum has some tips.

Turns out the problem is the Dell 2711, it defaults input through HDMI to 1920x1080. Had to edit EDID information and the games now recognize full native resolution.
