The system restore does have save points set, past that i dont now how to figure out why it wasnt working.

Something you might want to consider is making a system image every once in awhile when the system is stable. It's always nice knowing you can fall back on that when all else fails.

Pro-tip : if you want full speed download just replace the ftp://etc. with http://dldcnet.asus.com like I've done for the latest Nvidia.

I used nVidia Forceware 285.64 WHQL

I'm using 285.38 but I'm not a gamer. I only use this because 285.62 was giving me the TDR errors.

I don't overclock but those in the know say nVidia Inspector is the one to use.
