Latest NVIDIA drivers: Official, Beta, and Modded

no its not im safe to say now thank god i can finally stop choking and catch my breath now after a good week no more random crashes im staying here for now 268 the crashes was so not freuqent and i was pissing me pants hoping it stopped and im about 90. safe to say now it started crashing as soon as i updated nothing before that like when i got my new pc i had 268 drivers and then i updated to 290.. and i started crashing i went back 268 and then no more crash i said hey lets try asus drivers and gusss what ? here we go again crashes.... dont happen very often but are annoying and scary i lose my screen and takes 5 secs for them to recover thanks tho

Clinthill98 - one of the mysterious wonders of the world - AV programs are probably the most complex ones on your system . Also the AV companies don't take kindly to being uninstalled . i.e. you must uninstall with the good uninstaller , or , better , search the AV website for their "private" "complete uninstall utility" . What AV do you have ? Whatever it is , try uninstalling it , and any others you may have installed previously , as above , and then try the whole Nvidia clean install again .

So, reading all of these posts, I might make the question:

Which driver should I download if I want an improvement in gaming, while not rendering other functionalities useless? Because to me it seems this is all a "user pick" situation xD Some are okay with the 285, while some use the 290 and have no issues whatsoever, and so on.

No, I just installed 290.53 the other day. I'm not a compulsive driver changer as I don't game much and I don't need to look for every extra FPS of speed. :shrug:

i tested the beta, and every 2hours i was having a crash, so i installed the 290.53 and they seem to be very good (see thread with 3d mark vantage).

But ONCE AGAIN (i know i sound a broken record) thats to JRD1ST and his drivers UPDATED page!
