For those who are uncomfortable using third party driver sources, Realtek always has the latest version posted on their website. Just accept the license terms, then download the driver for your operating system. For most of us, that's "64bits Vista, Windows7 Driver only (Executable file)."

Been there, done that. I'm trying to get him the one I'm using because I KNOW it has the equalizer.

I wonder if you have Creative THX TruStudio installed, then you don't get the Realtek "Sound Effects" tab in Speakers? The 2.66 'driver-only' version still installs a bunch of executables, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Realtek HD Audio Manager.

Me too (but I had the non-Pro version installed when I updated with Realtek 2.66) and I don't have the Realtek Equalizer either. I'm liking the sound from THX TruStudio Pro with 'Crystallizer', so I'm ambivalent obout the Realtek Equalizer feature.
