I guess they don't want to co-exist.
I just uninstalled THX and now I have the eq. I'll have to decide later which sound I like better. I am already biased though, because I love equalizers...

It was always the same one. As you guys just discussed, the THX Crystalizer disables the Realtek equalizer if you choose to use it, but that's just the user's call. Realtek or THX. But the Realtek driver is always the same, and downloading directly from Realtek always assures that you're getting the latest one, with no concern about modifications or anybody's add-on downloads.

That's an interesting find indeed. In the beginning I had the old Realtek HD Audio driver without an equalizer. I Updated to R265 and I got my Realtek equalizer and I noticed right away that my THX equalizer was disable. I guess this explains that both equalizers can't co-exist.

That makes perfect sense, too. I've had multiple equilizers coexistant in the past and you always need to remember to not use one.

I have the version that came with ASUS, the THX TruStudio. It doesn't say is a PRO as far as I can see. But this THX is totally disable now after I installed the R265 Realtek driver. It tells me,
"The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jack connections. Do you want to select another audio divice now?
yes / no"
