Need help finding out why my CVFZ crashes the computer on auto [FX-9590]

So I have had like 4 boards since I started the AMD 8xxx series.
Not gonna make this a long post, but I have had many issues with the ASUS boards in the few years I have owned CVFZ.
So I have had problems when the BIOS is set to auto or a light OC, my computer crashes and I need to force a clear CMOS.
Or if I shutdown the computer the PC won't boot and I have to clear CMOS and save again the auto settings.
I'm pretty fed up with this now, and I'm starting to think that the CVFZ board have issues with these things.
I can tell you this, I have had 5 CPU's (owned and returned) 4 CVFZ and 1 Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3 (returned them all for problems).

There is nothing wrong with my memory, cooling or power.
So why is this still happening, is there some settings that NEEDS to be set in order for the CPU to function at stock?
Even when I try to OC the CPU to 4.8GHz the computer crashes during gameplay.
Can someone post every setting that I need to make the 9590 stay at 5GHz!?
I have just bought 2xEKWB EK-FC R9-290X DCII AC+NI GPU Block, EKWB EK-KIT X360 and 2xROG Matrix R9 290X.
Just the work of doing this on a board that I might need to RMA is kinda scary now.

Can someone help me?

Hi Nepty, I don't want to seam to be preaching to the uninitiated here, as I know you know your stuff. And don't try to OC from within windows. HeHe!

Well I can tell you now that the CVFZ is the best MB to support that FX-9590 and the rest of your specs show a top build to cope.
Have a look at these vids which are specific to your Bios:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kOlBalkVyA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MckeAmnDeTk

And have you read this thread: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?48794-Problems-stabilizing-FX-9590-on-Crosshair-V-Formula-Z

It is from these vids that I followed initially and managed to achieve 5.2GHz without problem.
Also set LLC to Ultra high and, CPU current capability to 120% which will help stability at higher clocks.
Make sure both 4pin and 8pin sockets on the MB are populated to assist the CPU.
It might be a good idea to post some pics of your Bios settings ( F12) after you have saved a good profile, for scrutiny.

Yeah I know that the BIOS is the best way to OC.

But when I set it to max on LLC, 1.52 vcore, 1.225 nb and still can't get a stable system... It's kinda hard to watch a video of what I already know.
I did push my AMD Athlon 64 3000+ ADA3000AEP4AX... 2808mhz... So I know how to OC, problem is that the 9xxx series is really hard to know the correct settings and what you should look out for.
With the information you just gave me, the system did hang while in windows loading screen, with no audio.
Tried 2200/2200 and 2000/2000 and yet they don't help.
Did even try these settings, still the system hangs.

Hi Nepty
OK then, I will give you my settings for a 5.0GHz stable OC and have thrown everything at it. P95, Aida, realbench.
I have given this out before and others have not achieved stability at my settings cause as you know, no two CPUs or setups are the same.

The only thing I did after this was to enter static values manually and later changed a couple of voltage settings to get to 5.2GHz.

Go figure, and I have proof.;)

So is that it,and did you try my settings after you cleared Cmos and started again or is this a new development.
Pointless me telling you to reapply your thermal paste as you probably have done that. So I'm sorry but I cant help you. Maybe you have a defective MB again or your CPU just ain't up to it.

wasnt long ago that i cleaned the h100 for dust, and by looking at the temps which is 12 on the socket and 27 on the cpu on idle... i'd say that the temps isnt the issue. I have cleared CMOS, removed the battery, reseated every powercables on the MB.
That is what I'm thinking too.
Was thinking of buying AsRock Extreme9 to test if the MB can't handle the OC on the CPU.

I blew a vrm on the extreme 9 overclocking 4.8ghz, be careful. It might be a better motherboard now.
Chris...Have a nice day.

I am at 4.96 ghz and I need 1.56v with llc set to ultra high (It will crash on me with llc set to extreme because idle or low usage voltage would be lower). With 16gb I also need 1.4v (with llc for cpu/nb set to extreme) on the cpu/nb. Try this. For 5 ghz on my 8350 I also need 1.58v to be stable under heavy load. I had to stop running 5 ghz because I was overloading my Battery back up system (I need a bigger one..lol!)

Yeah, I read about it, so I bought the Sabertooth R2.0, gonna test it if the OC works there or not and return the Sabertooth or the CVFZ.
I hope that the Sabertooth fails, because I have based the entire PC on ROG theme, so the military theme would crash. 😞
