    High temps 96 maks

hey im sitting here with a g73jw (i5 450, 5870) and im having pretty high temps. the idle is at 65 and my load max was at 96 while playing stalker call of pripyat on max.

can i fix this in some way canned air? opening it up and cleaning?
would like to keep away from opening it up since it is risky. but if it gives it longer life spand it would be worth it i guess.

From what I've seen reported here, a little compressed gas sprayed in the intake and vent areas can make a significant difference if you have dust buildup in your laptop. There are videos on YouTube that detail this procedure. Best results can be obtained if you open the back of the laptop. Otherwise, a repaste could be on your to-do list. See http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showth...ead-This-First) for details.

remember open the bottom panel and blow out of the chassis not in. and i think you have the JH because JW did not come with 5870 if so you need to do the vbios update and bios update. you can also try to reapply thermal paste but i would try the bios updates first

well i cleaned it out and now my load temp is at 74
so very happy about that especially since the 5870 can handle 114 degrees.

why would i update vbios and bios?
i have not experienced GSOD only 1 time BSOD but that was my own fault.
