maximus vii gene manual page 1-46 indicates how to connect the i/o leds but does not give any mechanical information regarding Voltage and Amperage. Is it 0v grounded does it have a negative rail? first post be gentle, i ve looked everywhere and got conflicting info. some say motherboard regulates as necessary, if so what are the absolute maximums?



i am thinking of using an optocoupler (or opto-isolator) to control power of a separate 12v or 5v rail for an led array. your help will be greatly appreciated. result: mod the led pin output to a more powerful rail for a led array without affecting or damaging the motherboard. with an optocoupler the new led array will follow on/off and blink state of pwr and hdd leds.
