Frank, buddy I turned for my 2.4ghz channel, now on just 5ghz
No more time outs, going to game a little and see what happens!
EDIT: Ping times down as well but now the girlfriends PS3 doesn't connect 😛
Glad to hear changing frequency worked for you too
😄In regards to still connecting devices that cannot find a 5ghz signal (like her PS3 and likely many other devices in your house), you can either use a dual band router to send out both 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals. Or you can chain an older router into your network and just use it as an access point for 2.4ghz devices. Disable DHCP and assign static IPs, should work fine. I actually have my dual band as an access point off my gateway in my house just to improve signal in the areas far from it.
Keep in mind a 5ghz signal doesn't have as much range as 2.4ghz so place it appropriate to your computer/devices that will use it.
Game on brother!
Edit: @Sneaky2Toes
You can check your WiFi settings on your router's page by:
open a command prompt (Win+R then enter "cmd" without quotes)
In the command prompt enter "ipconfig/all"
Find the line that says default gateway... and take note of the ip listed there.
Type that address in the URL of your web browser.
you might be prompted with a login box before you can access the router settings. the credentials are likely
admin/password. If that doesn't work search Google for credentials for your router.
Once on the settings page, navigate to WiFi settings to view all the details.
Don't change settings without proper knowledge.
