Asus G73jh - Do I NEED to update my bios before I update my Vbios?

Hey guys, Iv updated my ATI drivers to catalyst 11.9 and Iv come across the GSOD, also at times my game will freeze and the sound will loop/I have to reboot. (Im assuming its an audio driver issue) Either way, back to the point. I read that updating the Vbios will fix this issue, however people are also saying to update to bios 213, do I have do that as well or can I just update Vbios?

I really don't want to brick my laptop as its my desktop replacement/I need it for school, and if I brick it Im royally fucked.

Atm my bios is 012.017.000.004 according to catalyst.

Just do the flashes the correct way. A short procedure for the notebook BIOSflash is at the end of my New Drivers sticky.

As far as the vbios goes, I have no idea, so look for goon instructions.

No - it is not necessary to flash your BIOS prior to flashing your Vbios. In fact, unless the BIOS flash resolves an issue you are currently experiencing, I recommend against it.
