New build problems, maximum ranger vii

New build pc
Maximus rampage vii
I7 4790k
Gtx 980 palit
16gb ddr3
X61 kraken
250 ssd
1tb hdd
850 w psu

Powers up, fans spin, no display on monitor (asus swift) q code reading D7 (no console input devices are found)
Plug in usb keyboard & get b4 (usb hot plug)

Boot device led stays on throughout, tried systematically removing components one by one but can't find anything that makes it work.

Flashed bios using flashback as I read that Devils canyon requires update.

Please help it's driving me mad!

Edit: when I power on with keyboard inserted I get code A2 (ide detect) when I remove the sata cables from the drives it gives 99 (super io initialisation) boot device led still on

1) Do you have the power cord supplied to the CPU AND the 24pin power on the motherboard?

2) Make sure your fully seated on all components from Ram to CPU.

3) Check QVL for Ram

4) If you can answer all those with Yes... hit the Bio's reset and or Mem-ok! and see if that doesn't help.

Hello Barlzy and welcome

If you are connecting with display port, try connecting with a dvi cable until you get your os installed, updated and the NVidia drivers installed.

Make sure you have the pcie cables connected to the gpu and the monitor cable is connected to the gpu.

The codes you're getting (A2 and 99) tells me it's something in the gpu area whether it be power to your gpu or connectivity with your monitor.

Also note.. as far as I'm aware ASUS doesn't make a Rampage VII.. so little bit confused.
