Hi everyone I have a ASUS G20 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 Video Memory:2048 MBytes of GDDR5 SDRAM [Samsung]

So I'm looking to upgrade and seen this ASUS card :
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121912

Its small opens more room in case should run cooler and also should out preform the 770.

Also going to upgrade the ram 16 gigs is the max you can go so I'm going to put this into it:

got a small request
when you do take it apart if you have the possibility to do a small video of the process involved ? been trying to find some dissasembly video's with no luck
thinking about upgrading the ram of the pc but as far i can tell from the pictures from the overhaul thread
the ram blocks are sitting under the heatpipe for the cpu fan do you have to detach these also ?

I think a lot of people are shying away from upgrading once they realize what's involved. Asus scares people away with the warranty issue also.

As for the shorter 970 card, I'd be concerned that there may not be a bracket to secure it to. It may not be an issue since it sits vertically anyway but still something to think about. With that price, why not go for a full 980? The 9xx series should run cooler than the 7xx anyway.

The Alienware X51 is just like this system. The same thing was said of it when it first came out, and since, has had it CPU, memory, video card, HD, and WiFi card upgraded, and an SSD added by many.

The memory that you show is for a desktop.

The G20 uses 2 x 204-Pin DDR3L SO-DIMM 1600 (PC3 12800) laptop memory, and need to be DDR3L low voltage, 1.35V.

If you look at these photos, you can see it.

That looks like a nice video card, but if you look at these photos, there may be a problem holding the card in place, when it comes to that bracket on the end of the card in the photos. I don't know if there are any attachment holes for that bracket, for that shorter card.

If you look in this photo, the video card cooling fan has to be w/in the open slot area as shown in these photos below.

"Update: Looking at the photos above, there's no way to attach that bracket, due to that long slot for the cooling fan."

I tried a half size 960 card In mine it was too tall. Height of the card pushed up against the bottom of the case. If you upgrade your video card go with a reference model.

I'm stuck trying to get the video card out I found 3 screws but still didn't come out 😞
