G.skill ddr4 3000mhz cl15 with 100 strap

Hi,

Due to my m2 drive very sensitive to bclk oc so I can only set the strap to 100 bclk.
So without enable the xmp profile on my g.skill 3000cl15, i tried to manually oc it to the xmp rated timing.
I manually set the timing to 15-15-15-35-2t, frequency 3000mhz, strap 100, dram voltage 1.35. But it won't post.
I gradually upping the dram voltage to 1.44 to be stable and pass realbench 15mins stress test.
The serial is "....3400...." appears to be a hynix ic.

Is it in the "ok 24/7" zone with 1.44? Because its seems too high from the rated 1.35.

Your input will be much appreciated.

Is that a single memory kit?

Hello kenshinco,

You should read Raja's Don’t combine memory kits! The meat and potatoes overview. You'll understand why you're having this problem.

As a sidenote. Yes, 3000MHz is possible with the 100 Strap.

Raja, I believe he combined two kits. He'll probably have a hard time trying to get them to play nice with each other.

Hi,
My sys are as follow:
Asus R5E
5960x
G.Skill 3000mhz @ 2133mhz 32gb (4x4gb 2 kits)
Gigabytes gtx 980 g1 in SLI
Evga p2 1200w
Samsung sm951 512gb w/ wins 8.1 pro

Sorry for asking too many questions. I'm noob

Can you set the Cpu strap to 125 and Bclk frequency to 100.0? While i set this, the Target Dmi/Peg frequency becomes 80Mhz. This keeps the mobo in a restart loop whithout even post.

No you cannot and should not do that. BCLK has to be kept close to the strap frequency. Otherwise you will be changing the base frequency for all sensitive domains way too far.

Are you running the latest 1001 BIOS? DRAM overclocking has been improved in that revision.
