Does anyone know if these settings are ok to use these mobo settings on the ASUS rampage IV extreme black edition motherboard?

Bump because I'm not sure whether using the settings in this guide will be ok.

The settings should be fine, at the least as a base from which to begin tweaking your own config.

    If it's of any help, I recently finished sorting out a standard R4E with a 3930K C2 @ 4.8, I can post
the settings for that, or PM/email/etc.

explain this motherboard very well with a good starting foundation. all manufacture has there own word. Iin the end all the same when you understand. I change my ram from 16gb 2133mhz to 32gb 2400 mhz ,I deleted my ovc profile by accident an wasn't able bring it up to 4.7 even 4.3 i was at 5 before. now i got it at 4.5 on one try , I want to see how for my chip set an CPU on water cooling with 480x rad.

    Thank you!

So glad this thread still exists! Found another that goes extremely well with it!

First off - thanks so much for maintaining this thread - as in, it still exists, is reachable and all or most primary images are still there too.

If this wall of text is just TLDR then jump down to 2nd Thread of Knowledge and skip it.

So many guides from old didn't consider where their images are stored leading to most going invalid years after they're created. A g.skill guide I'm about to reference suffers from that but the meat of the guide is intact and extremely important, and valuable.

    Background:
Several years ago I built from scratch the most powerful machine I could manage where my only constraint was a self imposed budget in around the $7K o $8K mark IIRC.

Opinions of such numbers aside (good, bad or indifferent) the only point being - quality. Absolute maximum quality in every component and sub component were my #1 priority, period. I set out to build something to last 6 to 10 years. The budget reflected the fact I'd spent decades and untold thousands constantly upgrading and replacing crap. So, it was time to get serious and try to do something that when completed would eliminate that trend and lock in a solid monster rig giving me years of incredible performance and stability.

I considered even the most minute but important factors, or as many as my brain could muster - including essentially turning my wifes studio into an ESD-free lab for 6 months where I slowly built the thing. I used an ESD strap any time I touched anything whatsoever. In the end, 6 months later, with every single component I had purchased and put in this thing - when I flipped the switch, everything worked instantly, flawlessly, without any glitches or problems. I consider that amazing and I give credit to caring about ESD being a major reason it turned out that way. My 900D case is packed to the brim and that is a massive case so the number of components I'm talking about here is huge.

    Purpose of posting:
As I've upgraded from W7Pro to Win10Pro I'm doing a total refresh of settings. in particular my OC and also redoing a custom bios I made based off my original titans bios. The latter is complete and both of them are zipping along nicely.

So now I'm at the ASUS RIVE settings stage. It's been so damn long since I've had to touch anything I've forgotten most of what I learned years ago so I'm basically on a fresh adventure re-learning all the ins and outs, what impacts what and how to reach synergy having this beast performing at its best and most stable.

This thread is invaluable. I would NEVER be able to achieve what I'm trying to achieve if you hadn't gone to the trouble of detailing almost everything possible in here. This thread is my main reference point of understanding.

Since I'm using a set of g.skill modules I happened across another amazing thread I've never seen before and I'm now using it in conjunction with this thread on my "settings journey".

    2nd Thread of Knowledge:
This G.Skill ASUS Intel X79 Motherboard Overclocking Guide is incredible and provides synergy to this thread IMO.

Using both these threads is giving me the foundation I need to be successful in retuning my rig for another few years of outstanding service.

Thanks again for taking the time to describe so many details. I'm using it to its fullest.
