Maximus VI Formula vs Maximus VII Formula

    Hey,
I'm just wondering what's the big difference between those two boards.
    Is it worth the upgrade?
    thx

I have not thought it worth the upgrade. I still use the M6F with a 4790K for my 24/7 PC. The M6 series does need up-to-date BIOS and Management Engine to run the Devil's Canyon, but that update is easy to apply. There are threads on the issue - sticky threads where they are easy to find.

The compatibility and easy upgrade works for first round Haswells and the 'refresh'/Devil's Canyon. When Broadwell CPUs are released for the 1150 socket, that may or may not hold - for either the M6F or M7F.

    Jeff
