Dear Friends,

Please forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong forum cause I'm new here and I don't know where to post my queries.

I'm planning to buy an Asus Laptop X450JN-WX022D but I need to know whether I can use Intel SSD 530 (240GB) drive with this laptop.

Please kindly help me out with this information.

Regards.

Dear Sir,

Sorry for the delay, but you're in the correct notebook section.

Unfortunately, I'm not too familiar with the X450JN-WX022D model in the U.S. region since we don't appear to sell it here, so you may also want to consider checking with your local ASUS support, but expect it uses standard 2.5 inch notebook hard drives if you can confirm this.

Unless somebody else has tried it and lets us know, I don't know that ASUS will have much information about using your notebook with the Intel SSD 530 (check with your local ASUS support if you wish?), so you may want to be prepared in case there are any problems to install it.

If you have not checked the other notebook sections on the ROG forums, you can also find some discussion about SSDs there if you are looking for more general information, but wanted to mention some things below to consider.

1. According to the Intel website below, it appears the Intel SSD 530 (240GB) comes in either 2.5" or mSata versions, so just want to make sure you watch out for this and get the correct version for your notebook.

2. Once the Intel SSD 530 (240GB) is physically installed in your notebook, wondering if plan to install an operating system and how since this is something people have difficulties with too if you check our other forum sections.

Well, hope this helps and we can get more suggestions.
