Re-Attaching G750 keyboard

So I pulled apart my G750, following the instructions on the web. Unfortunately, they kinda glossed over the disconnection of the ribbons.
These clips are unlike others, the black retaining pieces popped out completely and I have no idea how to get it back together.
Any tips, hints, or videos would be appreciated.

there are small locking clips that are opening like this

yes, that's what they look like.

I suppose this is a bit of a cautionary tale; these clips are very fragile.
They should just flip up, but if you're not careful the black retaining pieces can be dislodged. They are a PITA to get back together, but doable.
