ASUS R9290 Direct CUII Black Screens!

Hello!
About a week ago, I built my friend a new computer. Everything works fine apart from the graphics card, which randomly black screens when you try and do anything on the computer (I tried to enable windows aero, instant black screen, I load a website, it takes about 4 seconds to black screen) the only way to get rid of the black screen is to restart the computer by holding down the power button.

I have RMA'd the card and am worrying it might happen again, before I did so I changed to the beta drivers and experimented around with some fixes online, to no avail.
Please can somebody tell me if they have had these issues before, and what they did to stop the black screens happening, my friend is really worried as he spent a lot of money on this computer just for it to be ruined by a faulty expensive GPU.

sad to hear that those black screen issues still have not been 100% resolved

In this case I would say faulty card since black screens almost everywhere only happened to me on unstable RAM clocks.
Got the rather ****ty Elpida RAM on my card, getting a stable overclock on those does not seem to be easy.

Upping voltages a little apparently helps, otherwise tuning down the memory clocks slightly. Maybe someone with an ASUS DC2 can give you some pointers, there seem to have been quite some people on this forum with DC2 OC cards and black screen issues.
