Will the Hyperkit even fit in a Rampage V extreme with a GTX 980?

I have the Asus Rampage V extreme motherboard, with a GTX 980 Matrix edition in the top x16 gen 3 PCIe slot. I've been super excited about Intel's release of the 750 NVMe SSD, and have been pinned to the Asus DIY youtube channel following all the tech talk and info. I came across this image in one of JJ's talks about the Hyperkit extension that is needed to connect the 750 to the motherboard through the M.2 slot and it has me worried...

Is it just me, or does that look like it isn't going to fit with the Matrix edition GTX 980 graphics card? Anyone who has a current GTX 980 Matrix, should know what i'm talking about. The card is huge... There doesn't look like there is any way that the mini SAS plug on the Hyperkit is going to fit in our systems with the graphics card on top of it.

I hope this gets addressed. It seems like it would definitely fit if they moved the plug closer to the M.2 slot and maybe situated it vertically like the other plugs on the motherboard, instead of facing 90 degrees. It would suck to miss out on this upgrade because of a design error like this.

    Post your thoughts,
Hopefully they put my mind at ease...

You mention a good point, though hopefully it shouldn't be a problem. Not using a Matrix 980 but the reference one seems to have a wide enough gap between the m2 which i have currently occupied with an XP941. But again measurements would be great.

Yeah, i currently have a SM951 in my M.2 slot and the space between that and my 980 Matrix just doesn't seem like it will fit anything stacked on top of the M.2 SSD.

So why not just get the PCIe card variant, rather than the 2.5" one?
