MG279Q "not verifyed" FreeSync?

Hey there!

I did read on a website that the MG279Q seems to support FreeSync through the AMD Driver and the only requirement for that is to have a DB 1.2a and Adaptiv Sync.

So I have three questions,

1. Is this true?
2. Will it be available around the 390x release?
3. I've also read that AMD does certify the screens for free so, why didn't you guys went for it?

This article from Guru3d has some more inofrmation that looks like to make your #1 question be "Yes, it's true."

And this quick video explains it's not a g-sync. But does support VFR. For $599. Interesting.

Well, as soon as it hit's the market and people can confirm that it works with FreeSync, I'll most likely go for it if there isn't something better on the market. On the announcement page they said that they are working on getting 144Hz rated. But overall I'm very happy with the 40-120hz range of "FreeSync". (Sorry, I don't trust what companys say about there products :D)
