NEW PC BUILD AMD/Intel + Overall have questions

Turbid
Level 7
All hey....
Thank you for help!
Last time when I build my pc it was at least 5years ago...Now so big choice and I get confused 😄
I plan to build pc for hard gaming + possible small overclock + further upgrade and possible for 4k gaming if I can afford to do it 😄 I don't plan build full water spec...
1)Motherboard choice for Intel processor Z97
Asus Maximus VII Ranger £127
Asus Maximus VII Hero £165
Asus MAXIMUS VII FORMULA £275
If I choice build Intel which mother board I rly need for my targets?

2)Intel choice :
Intel Core i7 4790K £275
Asus Maximus VII Ranger £127
Asus Maximus VII Hero £165
Asus MAXIMUS VII FORMULA £275
(So it will be £402/£440/£550)

Or then
Intel Core i7 5820K £317
Asus X99 Motherboards [Asus X99-A £180
(£497)
AMD choice:
AMD FX9370 £165
AMF FX9590 £180
Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z £186
(So it will be £351/£366)

I cant choice between them all...how I know AMD takes a lot power so I will waist more money on PSU and electrical bills if I am correct + it is not so powerful but it is cheaper...So I cant choice,maybe you have some other ideas for my build

3) Which GPU you recommend around £400-£500

Thank you!

For gaming, you can get by with an i5-4690K and a Maximus VII Ranger. That would be the most cost effective option. Use that as a baseline. If you're planning to use more than one GPU in the future, any of the Maximus VII motherboards can support up to 2 NVIDIA GPUs in a SLI configuration or 3 AMD GPUs in a CrossFire configuration.

The Intel Core i7 5820K with a Asus X99-A will support up to 3 NVIDIA/AMD GPUs. If your plan is to use as many as 4 GPUs, you'll need the i7-5930K and another ASUS motherboard that supports 4 way-SLI or 4 way-AMD.

As for GPU, the ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 980 is what I would recommend. It goes for £449.99 and is awesome for 1080p gaming. Adding more down the line will help you get good FPS with 4K gaming.

I have heared you are the best person to ask about the ram choice

what about RAM choice?

i5-4690k and the Ranger, as Chino said.

If you can, wait around for a couple months longer because the R300 cards are around the corner and are going to tear the GeForce 900 cards to pieces. If you're an Nvidia fan, your best (and only real) option would be a GTX 980.

If you only want what you need, that should be enough.

You can go for the X99 platform if you want, but it won't net you any more performance. Your e-peen will just be 12" longer.

m7ranger and 980 and a monitor whit high refresh rate and low lat time.
I7 or I5 intel chip is up to you ( you listed 1 and 2 as Z97 gen ).
and go for the K version so you can boost it a bit down the road.
mabye a closed water cooler if interested?
try and take a look at the 1440P monitors ( unless your using the one you have now ).
but in the end it all comes down to how much you want to spend on it, and what your limit is.

personaly? i would not go for AMD, its been on a standstill the past few years ( since 2011 ) only CPU's been "refreshed" no new mother board generation or chipset generation.
i did go from AMD to inten and not seen back or regreted it.

BUT if monney is the bottom line here? then by all means go for amd.

What price to set full water system?

too expensive and you void warranty.
first of all start whit a closed loop witch will have no maintenance on it exept removing dust from the fans and the radiator fins and dust covers.

for custom you can get a kit that goes for the CPU only.
you can get a closed one for under £40 and upward to £1000.
just took the prices out from this page -> http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/cat/Water-Cooling-Kits_40.html
there are other pages too but for a quick google i landed on that.

you need a case that can fit it all inside.
if you get leakage and parts shorts out, you have voided warranty and you will sit there whit a expensive paper weight.

for the system it self.
you have the gene -> http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_GENE/ -> £164 on amazon.uk
you have the hero -> http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_HERO/ -> £159 on amazon.uk
you have the ranger -> http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_RANGER/ -> £143 on amazon.uk

that is only estimate prices, and you will find it cheaper other places, only a quick google since i dont live in the UK.

you can look more on this site. -> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/

here you have 980 cards from £440 and upwards. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?catid=1914&groupid=701&sortby=priceAsc&subid=1812

asus boards ( Z97 ) from £71 and upwards -> https://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=5&sortby=priceAsc&subid=2811&mfrid=...

closed loop coolers -> https://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=2330&subid=2262

i5 -> https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-540-IN
the i7 cost's close to 100 more.
get the K version so you can OC down the line to "boost" the pc bit more.

what PSU do you have and do you have ssd or hdd that works whit this from before?

Full water system is good for extreme build pc £2000 + not for £1400 pound build 😄
In my opinion.....

I have PSU 1300W but my old system runs on AMD ...Have SSD but old one and HDD as well but question it is not about this...choice this parts it is really easy!

Most hardest point it is choice CPU and GPU....

You linked 980 for £440 but in same time you can buy r9 295x2 for around £500
Good think it is already water cooled and it is much faster then 980 even matrix one
But coming problem in load 295x2 uses about 700w which is twice more then 980 + it works on crossfire profile, but this amd idiots do not update drivers so most new games don't have crossfire profile and it runs like single 290...

I defiantly will overclock CPU to get more value for price.....most people in this thread saying buy i5 but if take a look test i7 faster and have bigger oc and etc. Have the good question now....Some one played CoD: advance warfare on MAX settings? my target it is get this game running on Max 😄

Don't buy an i7, it will not net you any more performance in a single situation. Unless you want bragging rights, always buy an i5.

If you want to overclock, do so by all means but again it has almost no imact on real world performance, so don't be afraid to save a few dollars by going for a non k-series chip.
