Currently I have a ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO
I have a i7-4770k 3.5GH CPU
I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. ( I hope this CPU cooler will keep the CPU cool enough for stress-testing after OC )
I just wanted to keep my system stable.

Hello Leadbelly1978 and welcome

Do you have a cpu stress testing program and a cpu temp monitoring program installed?

It's in a flight sim forum. With yer hero and a decent chip you should hit 4.5 at around 1.25 to 1.275 volts.

EDIT: I just found that website.

Thanks, I'll search for that website.

Edit:
BTW: Do you think the Cooler Master Hyper will be good enough OC this CPU chip or not?

You won't be able to hit 4.8GHz with a 4770k even with an all in one liquid cooler. I would recommend installing ROG realbench and using that to test for stability, your temps will be much better.

http://rog.asus.com/rog-pro/realbench-v2-leaderboard/

Set the ai overclock tuner to XMP sync all cores and set the cpu core ratio to 43 then scroll down to cpu core voltage and enter in 1.25v, F10 and Enter to save and exit.

Once in windows open up realbench and your cpu temp monitoring program. Click on stress test, turn it white and select how many GB of ram you have, the 15 minute test is fine, click start.

If your temps go over 90c stop the test, if not let it run and if you pass raise the cpu core ratio to 44 and test again.

Post your temps please.

I could install the Corsair series CPU extreme AIO.
I'm sure that would work.
I'll post the temps once I've OC it, or try to OC

Didn't mean to imply 4.8 is doable..... it's just how I search to find the thread. It goes through a detailed process top to bottom including memory and cache. On that board if my memory serves me correctly.
