IPS Version Of The Swift ?

I'm looking at getting the Swift but would really prefer an IPS for the superior colours and clarity.
I know that there is a Freesync version of the Swift for AMD users coming out shortly but with IPS instead of TN so will there be a G-Sync version coming out to replace the TN model currently out ?

Sort of. I don't see an exact IPS version of the SWFIT. But here are 2 new ASUS IPS monitors coming out ...

PG27AQ is a; 4K, IPS, G-Sync, but max refresh rate of 60hz. Though if it can do 4k, then it can do the lower resolutions. But there is not inof on what refresh rates it will support w/ G-Sync.

MG279Q might be the one you mentioned above as being their other IPS, non G-Sync monitor. it's a; WQHD (2560x1440), IPS, but not g-sync

I've not seen any info as to when either of these monitors are coming out. I assume it's sometime this year. But who knows.

If you mean a 144 Hz, 1440p, IPS with G-Sync and ULMB technology so as to aboid the typical IPS ghosting problems, .... then yes.... it's reviewed here:

Before this monitor was released I would never have considered an IPS monitor for gaming. But between G-Sync, 144 hz and ULMB technology, this is the 1st IPS I would use

Wow - LinusTechTips gives it a great review. And it dethrones his previous gaming monitor of choice, the SWIFT, with this one! IPS with identical stats in nearly everything. The one exception was the response time being 4ms, compared to the Swift's 1ms. He said that trade off to have IPS over TN was a worthwhile tradeoff. Check out the review.

Am I the only one who takes his reviews with a grain of salt? Don't get me wrong, I like Linus. But the paid sponsour reviews are just too obvious. Even when he talks about the negative cons of the screen he indirectly hypes up the monitor. I think if Linus would do a real proper review he could, but thats not really it.

Well, yeah. That seems to be true. And I like him too. I started following his reviews last year. I found his review of the SWIFT very helpful in making my decision. He can do a good job of explaining dry technical stuff in a more entertaining way. I use his review, plus several others site's to help cross reference how well a particular item really is. The more consistent the reviews, then the more confiednet that the item works as intended.

But yeah, gain of salt here too.
