So I just recently built my new rig but i found out when building it that the motherboards PCI slot 1 is at the very top and I am not sure if i can fit an SLI configuration wihtout damaging the cooler or the GPU so i turn here to see if anyone has any suggestiuons on how to solve this

Here's a picture of how it currently looks

I have heard that if there is no backplate on the gpu that it should fit from what I have seen on the internet but its damn close. How much room is there for the ram with that cooler on?

The ram is fine on the left but on the right i had to up the fan abit to make it possible to fit the ram. I can post pictures of the process.
But then I guess I'll justr ahve to trybswtiching slots with my current card then?

The cooler is extending over the first PCIe slot. You will just have to use the other slots for your SLI configuration.

But isn't that going to make a huge differenc ein performance when im forced to use 8x on the second/first card instead of 16x?

A small difference that isn't noticeable to the eye.

Hey,

Indeed. I think it was 800 points less. So pice 3.0 16x was like 10900 in 3dmarks firestrike and on 2.0 16x +/- 10000.

That's correct. Out of synthetic benchmarks, you won't even notice. 🙂

Hey

Invest in a AiO Liquid cooler ? as low as 80$ hard to say no 🙂 also it would fix your problem 😄

Ofc it would mate, but my Noctua NHD15 is insanely good when it comes to overcloking the CPU also ive read that it doesn't make any difference to run one card in 16x and the other in 8x. Correct me if im wrong....
