Do I get M.2?

Coming from when SSDs were getting popular around 2011, I ended up getting a 60gb SSD drive as my primary OS drive.

Now that I'm doing a fresh rebuild, I noticed on a build video something called M.2 was used.... I'm a little confused on what it is, but I see there have been some advances since popularity of SSD. When I got my 60gb, it was over 100 dollars... now I can get a 240gb for 90 bucks lol.

so anyways, can someone give me a crash course on M.2 and if it's something I want to get for my new build? (Asus Hero VII mobo)

What is this used for? OS loading? something else?

the card can be used as OS or games ++.
guess it can depend on what motherboard and platform.

Hey there, this hypothetical computer doesn't exist yet, so I didn't put any specs lol. I'm trying to put a build together

Now, if I recall correctly. The ROG Max VII boards support M.2 drives with the "M" key connector and PCIe interface, rather than the SATA one.
